Zyprexa

I was taking zyprexa for 11 years and just recently with doctor's approval stopped taking it. I also take lithium. I feel much better not taking it and have actually noticed I'm calmer and in a better overall mood. I used to sleep 10 to 11 hours a night. The only big difference I'm noticing is that I now sleep 6 to 7 hours a night or I wake up in ( Read more... )

hmmmm. I have this problem after going off meds in general (zyprexa was one of them though) but I wasn't on it for years.

It does knock me out, and when they added it to my abilify I thought it was going well, didn't realize how zoned out I was until I went off everything and my mind got clear!

I do now only sleep 5-6 hours a night though. I TRY for 7. I need at least 7. Last night I got 6.5 I'm getting there. ;)

It's been since May for me.

I still take the zyprexa, like one dose, every once in awhile (rarely) just cuz it knocks me out. Recently I had let myself get terribly sleep deprived and I took one last friday at 630 in the evening. ( I couldn't keep my eyes open but didn't want to go to bed and wake up at 1 am and the zyprexa keeps me down for a good 11-12 hours) I woke up at 6 am. lol.

Good luck on the sleep front though, to both of us!

I'm starting to sleep a bit better. Some nights I have slept 7 and a half hours and not so much waking up in the middle of the night. I am still tired though. The other night I tried your technique and I took 2.5 mg of zyprexa to see if I could sleep more. I slept over 12 hours, but I felt horrible in the morning and most of the day...foggy..grumpy. I used to feel that way a lot. I am so glad I don't take that med anymore and I vow never to take it again! I prefer to sleep less and be a bit tired.
