Specifically about Ash. They haven't come to Northern Ireland for ages, and when they do? Their gig is over-18s only.

For. Fuck's. Sake.

It's kind of ironic, given that Tim's been so supportive of Oh Yeah, which was specifically meant so that under 18s could see more gigs. I know it's harder to make money on all ages gigs, but they could've done a ( Read more... )

That is a pisser :( I'm a bit surprised because whenever I've been to see them it's been all-ages; I can't see why they'd limit it like that

But ... they've been touring since, what, 1995? They probably will still be touring in two years

I think it's the venue they chose, more than the band themselves. The Limelight Complex is known for being difficult about all ages shows, so much so that it's usually easier just to settle for 18+. It's just...annoying.

I don't really see them splitting up any time soon, though.

Yeah. I mean, I don't know what it's like over there but I know round here the council makes it difficult with licences for all-ages venues. It tends to be easier for them to go over-18s because then they don't have to worry about underage drinkers.

It's still crap though :s
