technology hates me!

I tried unsuccessfully yesterday to authorize Jaws on my laptop so I could use the new version. I had to have Freedom scientific reset my authorization count...but for some weird reason, it still wouldn't let me authorize tonight. I love being able to use JAWS, but sometimes companies try too hard to keep good people from sharing their software ( Read more... )

I don't have any good words of wisdom about Rox. I would just do what you are doing. Ask her to do what she can, and enjoy her for the rest of the time you have her, and God will do the rest.

Hey. Boooo for technology. Jaws pisses me off with crap like that. Its a bit ridiculous. Also, seriously, technology just hates us haha. For real!
As for the "dog stuff", I know you feel "guilty" about letting her "slack" but I wonder if its all part of the retirement game when you've had a dog for a full working career. If I were you, I wouldnt feel too too bad. I mean, you are still being genuinely consistent I'm sure. And as long as she is still doing what really matters I'd say its ok. As we said the other day, she has given you many good years, and is getting up there as far as years go. So, I don't think your letting her slack is the same as letting your students slack. I mean, with them you know they're just being silly, with her, you don't know exactly what she's thinking. I'd say, don't feel guilty at all, and do whatever u feel is right for her. (smile).
BTW, I sensed a little animosity on list the other day? Haha I couldn't help but laugh :-)

Yeah, JAWS really annoys me most of the time. I have seriously considered going to Window Eyes, but the price stops me because I don't want to throw out $1000 or so for the same type of program to have it work less well. Less well, how's that for a good comparative?

I don't know. I feel like with Rox something else is going on, but I have no clue what it is. Thanks to both of you for the support.

Anamosity? I felt like it was more like "my disclaimer rocks so use it, or get off my list", but maybe it's all blown over now.
