Coffee withdrawals

So, seeing as got sick with a stomach bug, I figured it was a good idea to stay of the coffee. It's now been 4 days since that delicious nectar of caffeine known as coffee last caressed it's way down my throat ( Read more... )

As a half-arsed barista working for an evil, multinational coffee chain, I can safely say, "Holy shit, that's a lot of bad mojo going down your esophagus!"

Have you thought about tea? It has anti-oxidants. :o)

I feel like a total betrayer to coffee here, but you do realise that it's bad for you in some ways, right? Maybe it's a good thing you've slowed down a bit--although your cotton wool-wrapped brain may argue ...

And isn't it normal to feel crap when you're coming off something? Withdrawal symptoms and the like ...

From memory, caffeine actually works in a very similar way to amphetamines...

they work on different mechanisms and dont mess with all the same neurotransmitters but yeah, they're both stimulants. I'm pretty sure it's not quite as easy to get "coffee psychosis" though :)
