WTF?!? When did it become legal for the US to save themselves a headache by exiling their criminals to Canada?

Castro saved himself troubles by shipping his convicts to the US, how is this any

it's different because castro is a communist dictator and makes up the rules as he goes along ... it's probably legal for castro to do it ...

a sex offender ... arguably a pedophile ... i say canadian citizens need to protest it ... to the highest levels of government if need be

I keep telling people, the answer is to turn these folks into human lab rats. We could get a boatload of great research done. Nobody listens.

The dude already lives in Canada, they're just asking him not to come back to the US for 3 years.

that's no excuse .... elgordo303 October 24 2006, 16:05:20 UTC
if a canadian living in the usa committed a sex crime in canada ...they'd lock his ass up (and rightly so) not send him back to the usa for a defined exile period.

I'm not defending the guy... just being pedantic.
This guy isn't worth locking up to them. They just want him out of their community.

when we 'encouraged' our most, um, 'dangerous and violent' (yeah, that's it!) conscientious objectors to the Vietnam war to go north to the big C.

On a more down-to-earth note, the Castro line is not telling the whole story. The US kept harassing Cuba about letting people who wanted to leave Cuba actually leave. Castro in essence said "Okay" and indeed let a bunch of people who really wanted to leave, leave - all his jails were full, and to the inmates at the time, it was a heavenly chance. Castro got a good deserved laugh at our expense, and got two things he wanted - rid of his bad eggs and the US to shut up for a while about letting people leave.
