Nobody's more wide awake at one in the afternoon than a bunch of four year old kids. That "nap" stuff is so the teacher can get a break.

And I don't blame April here. What if it's a snack you don't even like?

There is a stretch in there I remember when my kids were little they needed to have the nap or they got really cranky. However, I do remember them trying to get us to take naps in first grade where no kid ever slept.
