"I told April she could have some friends over because I thought you'd be here to supervise them. I was hoping to have some time to myself this evening."
Like Elizabeth or Elly would be supervising April. Bwa-ha-ha! No, Elly. The only creature that every cared to supervise April was Farley.
The stupid cow thinks people are pretending that they don't know what she wants to make her angry. She then turns around and whines that she can't read minds when she stupidly books roomettes.
Again with the shared thought bubble. WHY would Liz be thinking this? She hasn't done anything wrong. And "Do not collect 200 calories"? I know it's a Monopoly reference, but it's bizarre.
She knows that she hasn't done anything wrong but she also known how her mother thinks. Unlike Elly, she remembers all of the angry tirades in response to non-events.
Elizabeth is being punished for not reading Elly's mind. I know sometimes I felt the same way reading this comic strip when we got to points that were only in Lynn's mind and not on the page.
An Elly with a car phone can't be caught flatfooted by an empty house.

Everyone has stuff to do that isn't demeaning. The third pre-Foob collection was all about how exposure to children was a dehumanizing torment.

Of course the idiot is going to get all pissed off that Liz didn't second guess her.
And I know I've said this here before but who the hell "puts on" meals? A normal person would say "fix" or something!

Excellent point. As a reader, I too feel punished and sent to my room.
