I took some clutter of my walls, so it's more than just the mean free path, it's also just the amount of things assalting your senses. It's why chromatically arranging your books is more statisfying than alphbetically. I why a untouched snow field is soothing.

Agreed! I finally unpacked the boxes living outside the kitchen with extra kitchen stuff.. further opening of that path to the bedroom not only made that journey seem more serene, but made me want to use the office more, which is tangent to that space! i guess i'd be looking at less clutter...
