Note 2

I'm just curious--

If I were to offer commissions on, say, custom knitted things like scarves or hats...and I charged about five sickles per product, would anybody be interested?

Oh, that sounds like a lovely idea.

Why, thanks!

Afraid I can't charge dormmates for a scarf, though, they'll have to settle for the price of free.

That's very generous of you, Botan, but really, I'd be happy to support you.

That sounds lovely! I would defiantly get one.

You would? I'm not sure if I can charge professors for it, that sounds slightly unsavoury!

Nonsense! I would pay you were you not a student, so I will pay you when you're a student.

If it's all the same to you, sir. Just tell me what you want and I'll make it.

Possibly.

[Scarf for the win.]

Do you have a work sample?

I knitted a scarf on the train ride over, will that do?

You could bring it to class.

I'll be sure to do so! I hope it's up to your standards.

Five sickles for anything?

Yup, pretty much!

That's a good price! When are you gonna start?

Whenever I get an order, naturally.

I would most certainly be interested. Would you be willing/interested in keeping a project a secret?

Ohhh, is this a surprise gift?

Yes, I certainly can keep it a secret and I won't charge extra for that!

It is indeed. I appreciate your discretion.

How quickly can you finish a project? (A matter of curiosity, as I know nothing about knitting. The person in question's birthday is in a week, and it would be positively brilliant if that were a realistic goal. If not, I'm still quite interested.)

It depends on how much goes into it. Patterns and multiple colours take me a little longer, for example. Length of the scarf--well--I've been devising a way to set my needles on autopilot for when I'm in class so that's less of a factor than what the actual scarf looks like.

So, if you give me an order, I can give you an estimate date it'll be ready.
