How quickly can you finish a project? (A matter of curiosity, as I know nothing about knitting. The person in question's birthday is in a week, and it would be positively brilliant if that were a realistic goal. If not, I'm still quite interested.)

It depends on how much goes into it. Patterns and multiple colours take me a little longer, for example. Length of the scarf--well--I've been devising a way to set my needles on autopilot for when I'm in class so that's less of a factor than what the actual scarf looks like.
So, if you give me an order, I can give you an estimate date it'll be ready.
