Going Gaiman: OuaT and the Sandman verse

What if they all, the various realms and everybody within them, every forest, castle, mountain, mouse and man were actually part of the Dreaming?

That had occured to me before. Remember A Game of You, where we find out Barbie's dream world was originally created by Dream for one of his past girlfriends? It would very much work as an explanation if this is true for all the OuaT realms. Especially given Dream's romantic track record and awfulness at relationships. He clearly wanted to impress someone by giving them a realm where True Love works out, and being Morpheus, got a bit stuck on the "working out" part. Also, Desire couldn't help meddling with some of the creations...
