I voted at 7:00am sharp this morning. We were in line at 6:46 and there were three people ahead of us in line. (I've never ever seen a line at my polling place in CA though, so hopefully these three people mean record turnout.)

I'm listening to Jimmy Carter on "Fresh Air" right now. He says that if the Carter Center were asked to monitor the US election right now, they would turn it down because this country's election infrastructure does not meet the center's minimum criteria for holding a fair election.

RIP Christopher Reeve

I'm really, really sad about this, and I'm not really sure why. 
My sister has a spinal cord injury, and is a paraplegic, but I've never
felt myself particularly connected to Reeve or looked at him as a role
model. Or I never realized that I did.

Now that he's dead, I can't stop getting choked up and freaked
