I cry every time I read that...and the last paragraph just kills me.
What I thought was the most adorable thing is that Elanor and Frodo are played by Sean and Sarah's daughters. Aww!!! I wish we could have seen more of Sam's kids, but that wouldn't have gone with the book very well. >
Yeah that was very cute!! I wish there was more of their kids too, but you are right that would not have gone well with the book!! I just love the book so much and have been reading more and more of the Appendixes!!! They are so interesting!!
I just love the Appendixes. Because knowing dates is fun, though very very dorky. And plus, some of the information makes the story even better...if that is possible.
The end of the book always makes me cry. Frodo does stay in The Shire longer in the film than the book. Perhaps they did that because they wanted Sean's daughter and Sarah's daughter to both be in it, and if they made it a couple of years later than it was in the book, they were both the right sort of age. Did you notice that baby Frodo is played by Sarah's daughter? Also, when Sam leans over to baby Frodo at the end of the film, he mouths "Frodo lad". That almost makes up for baby Frodo being "Baby Gamgee" instead of Frodo in the credits.
Yes I noticed that it was played by her daughter, but I did not see him say Frodo lad at the end!! I will have to watch that the next time that I see the movie!! Thank you for telling me!! They were just so cute though!! Yeah that almost makes up for it!! LOL
I'm sorry!! That is why I put it under a lj cut so if you didn't want to cry then you wouldn't read it, but when I read it, it just brought tears to my eyes too!! I love Tolkien!!
