I came out of this film convinced I'd just watched a poorly scripted hate crime against constructed intelligences.

But that aside, I agree, but would go further. Even after mental wrestling, there were many things I couldn't find making any sense; not least, why there's a full-sized normally-shaped grand piano in the emergency escape ship. The mission personnel's unbelievable incompetence and intolerance is fully complemented by the implausible design of the ship (high ceilings, wide doors, front-facing windows, aforementioned grand pianos, etc), the poorly laid out mission protocols (quarantine + decontamination != flamethrower), and the no-doubt many-layered but poorly realised plots of the various players in the Game of Weylands.

I feel I should mention their incompetence again, because it was multi-faceted and fighting for space in my brain with, as moral_vacuum mentions, "how the hell is she running or even walking without all her organs falling out", throughout the film. From "let's all remove our helmets" through "it's picking up a ( ... )

I find reading other reviews of Prometheus interesting. I spent too much of it being scared and hiding like a big wuss to have worked out if I thought it was good or not.
