I adore even in the midst of this pain, he still has faith in her, in them.

Her eyes flutter up then; and a little smile of her follows. They're accompanied with that shortly-lived spark (because that's how all the sparks between them are now; short and fleeting but definitely and without a doubt, still there.)
I want to take that image and hug it. The intensity of it given what they're going through, where they are at this point, is staggering. ♥

Especially not when the thing he could possibly be giving up on, is someone with whom he is absolutely infatuated with (in every way) and someone who he affectionately calls Bones. :)

Ooh and in just the last chapter I was laying bets that it was finally going to be Brennan to break the silence, but maybe I'm wrong. I like Booth's attitude here -- we're seeing a glimpse of the fighter that seems to have been missing since she told him no and he just gave up without an argument that night. This gives me great hope...
