Hey, I've got about 1,000 books (seriously) that I've shoved into every possible nook and cranny. Hmmm, THAT sounds painful! At any rate, you have my sympathy. I keep upgrading to better bookshelves and have even stuffed some in a chest of drawers, yet books tend to lurk in every possible place in my condo.
