Okay, you might say you're embarrassed, but really... I think you had fun. And frankly, after all the "but wait! there's more!" crap I've had pushed at me... I like hearing them get a bit back.
You're right. Who am I kidding? It was fun. But I do feel bad, because I could see myself in his shoes, sizably out-thought during the moment in which I was to shine... But hey, if he wants to be a business man and sell something, he's got to REALLY work on his technique. If he'd seen me batting down all his bullshit, what he should have done was cut to the chase and give me the pitch, instead of getting steamed and leaving. You don't win customers by insulting their intelligence and then giving up when they call you on it.
damn!!! I wish I had been there to see that. Sounds like my stint as insurance salesman. Hell, at least you were direct about it. "I have to talk to my spouse." Or "I dunno, can you call me back in a month or so?" BAh, Sales...not for me.
I can’t see anything to be embarrassed about, in fact the way you closed the encounter was laudable. If anyone should be embarrassed, it’s the people who actually try to sell these schemes.
