The strange thing is, nothing really happens in the city, and I know it. It's some kind of symbol in my mind. And it's really important. It's exactly what you're describing, i think, as far as being insubstantial and not synthetic.

I had a dream about shag carpet once. Except that in my dream, I was a young boy about 7 years old, and I knew how to fold an irregular scrap of deep blue shag into a square with little triangles, and I took it to a large white cube which had all the hallmarks of my above-post's subject. Bright white, smooth walled, empty inside. I then knelt on the rug in the one doorway of the cube, high up in the wall, since half the cube was underground, and shoved off into the empty space inside it. You see, I knew just how to fold the shag so it would let me fly on it. Shag has powers, y'know.

Reading this I can't help but comment, but I am lost for words as to what to say. All I can say is that you've got a wonderful sense for writing, and I wish I had dreams this beautiful sometimes. Mine are usually about death and remorse, and most recently I have dreamt of "STMPTS" which I don't know what that stands for, but I guess I'll find out soon enough. :o
