Last year, I sent a back-of-the-envelope financial statement to our advisor. We have $SAVINGS, are planning to add $CONTRIBUTIONS more, foresee certain $COSTS, and think we can live happily on $BUCKS per year. What do you think? Can we retire by $DATE

Groceries are very difficult for only two. It's tough to cook dinner all the time when there's either different or very late schedules where cooking isn't an option. And I understand attempting to eat right by buying produce with good intentions...yeah rots in the crisper for the most part. We live on lots of pre-cooked chicken sausage and turkey meatballs from Trader Joes that I could whip up a meal with.

As I may be retiring in this year 2014 and certainly by 2016 , I'm glad to know I'm not alone in the boat .
When I was a young lad I only bought food I knew I'd eat and so didn't toss any out and was *much* thinner ~ I'm not sure SWMBO will go for that approach .
Will you retain both residences when you pull the pin ? .

I just hope my crumbling rat trap doesn't collapse around my ears .
It sounds to me like you're doing well , my brother now lives in Waldoboro , Me. and commutes to MIT .
Every time the stock market tanks , I scrape up any$ I can and go buy more stock .
I try to stick with the Blue Chips , my mother did very well , I'm not really savvy there , don't understand the minutiae .
