I thought exactly the same thing as you (without the reassurance because no one else had seen it) so...well if we work on the twins theory.

After the second episode I still think that 11 is a good doctor, but I'm begining to be even more unsure about Stephen Moffat as the head guy. (The first episode was miles better than the second) I'm wondering if he works better as an indvidual ep guy for this show rather than a showrunner.

And see Facebook for another reason I'm putting him on notice (no spoilers)

I can't decide if my dislike of Eleven is simply because I dislike him, or if I am still secretly unable to let David go. But the thing is, after seeing David's exit, I felt it was a good one and I'm glad he got to tie up loose ends and stuff (OMG was totally not expecting to see Mickey and Martha - married! - and Jack and Russell Tovey!, whatsherface!teacher/writer-lady, and ROSE - who now looks like a completely different person after all that weight she lost) I guess the only way I'm going to be able to tell is if I watch Eleven's episodes and see him in action ( ... )

I haven't watched any of the 11's eps because I'm worried about not liking him. But, like you, I've been told otherwise and yet I still can't make myself watch it!!!

Same brain.

I'm attempting S5 later today... depending whether or not the last S4 Confidentials leave me depressed or not over DT's departure (hopefully not!)

Hipster Doctor definitely has one of those looks that is much better served in action than in still photos. I'm <3<3<3ing him hardcore so far, for what it's worth. Still very much the Doctor, but different. :)

Oh, I have nothing against Matt Smith's look - I think he's cute and I've enjoyed him in his previous work. I just wasn't down with the regeneration scene at all, but it's probably unfair to judge him from that tiny bit that I saw. I'm working on the EoT Confidentials now and after that, I think I'll be starting the Eleven eps :)

Well, I liked Eleven straight off from the regeneration, but he really has been AWESOME in this season so far. Then again, I was ready for Ten to go, as much as I liked him.

I'm glad to hear he's been awesome. Everyone on my flist has good taste, so I trust that you're all correct.

I was ready for Ten to go, too. I mean, I was, and then David gave his heartbreaking performance (the bit right before he steps into the chamber to save Wilf) and I was like "Okay, I don't think I am up for this" but then I got over it and was again ready to let him go. I think my problem with Eleven was the regeneration scene - too much like Ten's. I was watching it and thinking, "Who do you think you are? David Tennant? Find some other schtick." - but I guess that isn't really fair thinking since they are essentially the same character and it's not like he wrote the scene.

I have to separate my love/longing for Ten from my love/delight for Eleven. Just because I love Eleven doesn't mean I love Ten less, paraphrasing the Reverend Mother (does that mean the Ten is God in this scenario??).

He's really spectacular in the new episodes. A blast of manic energy, and he only reminded me of Ten once. You'll probably notice it.

The episode plots have been iffy, but..I'm just so glad to have left the EMOTIONAL BAGGAGE of season 4 behind for awhile that I didn't mind. TEN, I still love you, but I was...well, exhausted.

I can't wait for you to catch up!

Hi hi hi! You're alive!

but..I'm just so glad to have left the EMOTIONAL BAGGAGE of season 4 behind for awhile that I didn't mind. TEN, I still love you, but I was...well, exhausted.

I think because I spaced out my end of S4/specials viewing, the emotional baggage/angsty whatever didn't impact me as much as others. I mean, I did notice it, but I wasn't too weighed down by it other than in the EoT where it was Angst Central (but in a good way).

True story: I was looking up episode titles to see if I had missed anything, came across the last of the S4 Donna episodes and could not remember watching them at all. I know I did watch them, but seriously, the content of those episodes escapes me. It's been so long :P
