Pimpin' Ain't Easy When Poster Nazis are Around

Did you know that the Castro has a Poster Nazi? It's true! Apparently, there's a guy (Fred says his name is Rick, but I prefer Poster Nazi) in the Castro who considers it his personal mission in life to tear down posters for clubs and events when they are taped on utility poles. It's really nice, no? And the posters were high quality paper too...that's what really ticked me off.

Actually, that's what I did! The other night I went out and posted about 5 of the Blowoff posters in very specific places (target markets...hehe), and the next day I headed back to the Castro to pick up my comic books...the poles were wiped clean. I hear the Poster Nazi takes weekends off though. To be honest, I wasn't as ticked about the posters with my face on it as I was about the Blowoff ones...not due to any preference or shyness, but because the Blowoff posters are really high quality paper (whereas the Bearracuda ones are smaller, and a bit cheaper printing material). I'm still trying to put the posters up in some "target bars", but have gotten turned down at a couple of the places I asked first (not naming names).

Doing Blowoff tomorrow in DC, myself. I'm sure that Rich will be spinning his mix of the new Killer's single (yay!). One of my buddies does the Blowoff artwork (and the icon of me you see above). Sooooooo much fun! Hope you have fun at Slim's!

You absolutely should...the music Morel and Mould play is excellent, not the typical diva circuit stuff you hear at most gay clubs.
