There are very few (VERY FEW) people for which we would give up a gorgeous, hot day in SF to spend it in a bar. Your husband is one of them! (as are you..duh!). Besides, how often do I get to celebrate a friend joining the 40s club?!

Donovan - many thanks for sharing this very special day with those of us who were there only in spirit. Definitely one for the books!

You know, that surprises me because I thought I had set that to a public folder. I will reconfigure that when I get home. Sorry about that!

Fixed! (Fred's photoset, listed in the post above, actually has all of my pictures, plus our buddy Derek's). And you don't need to be signed in or a member to view them!

Where did you get the cake by the way? It was delicious!

I used Schubert's Bakery, on 6th Avenue and Clement. Basically, I did a Google search for personalized cakes in San Francisco (I was looking for a good place that would turn pictures into edible icing) and found them with a 5-star rating. I "built" that cake through their online site, from the size to the flavor to the message I wanted on the cake...and the final product went beyond my expectations, to say the least. I sent them an email yesterday telling them how many people asked about the cake...they get my highest recommendation!
