Nadgers. Um... do you still have receipt from when you bought the dodgy tankfull? If it matches the time when other people had problems from the same place, and you have the garage receipts to show that the relevant bit went Pete Tong, that might be enough, even without a sample?

I don't have a receipt for the petrol, but I paid with a card, so it's on a bank statement.

Ideally, Tesco want absolute proof it was due to the petrol, but I just can't get that. My Mum suggested I asked the garage to keep the bits they replace so if necessary, they might be able to test them.

However, I am hoping, from the letter I've got from Tesco and stuff, that they should process my claim.
