[Jude's voice is quiet - he sounds shaken.]

Humanity as a species... we're not inherently bad, right? People are good, for the most part.

Right?

[The recording continues for perhaps fifteen seconds after that, and then ends with a rustling and a sharp click.]

Thinking too much about that makes my head hurt.

Thinking about your actions is required in order to be a responsible adult.

I guess I'm not all that great of an adult then, am I? I'm a kid.

Well. I think you lot are, generally speaking, and I've been around a long time. You just tend to get easily led astray, that's all. Besides, people - and I don't just mean humans, I mean Thals and Ood and Raxicorricofallapatorians and all sorts - people on the whole are capable of both good and bad things, it doesn't matter what race you're from. Sure, some races are more predisposed to violence or being peaceful or being ruthless or whatever than others, but if you really work at it, there's nothing to stop you from being good, if that's what you want. In the end, it's all down to personal choice in most cases, nothing more or less.

Thank you.

If it comes down to personal choice, well, I know what I'm choosing!

Don't mention it.

Well, there we are, then! Nothing to worry about.

I don't know for sure myself, and that's... I'm not gonna lie, that's pretty scary, really...

I can't say whether I believe people are naturally good or evil. I think they just do what they have to.

That's what I'd like to think, but the truth of the matter is that all humans possess the capacity to do great good or great evil. In the end, it's our choices which determine how others perceive us.

But for the most part, I like to think that, given the chance, people want to do the right thing.
