SPEAKING OF THIS; I did a rewatch last week just cause I felt like watching something awesome (i.e. my favourite episode). During the scene with Chapel, I noticed Spock doing something hed never done before, he was like... rubbing his hands together like Mr Smithers, but I happened to look up at that moment (was studying) and was suddenly struck with the realization; ZOMFG HES TOUCHING HIMSELF INAPPROPRIATELY IN FRONT OF CHAPEL!?!?!?! So I spent the rest of the episode just exclaining NAWWWWWWW, YOU DI'NT! XD Correct me if im wrong if thats not totally whats going on.
To be fair, before he begins mind melds, he will sometimes rub his hands together, but far be it from me to say he's not touching himself. Mind melds are, after all, intensely personal things. :P
Yeah, its way more significance than should be attributed to it, but I think its mostly hilarious because it just goes to show how I've gotten a stronger prescription for my slash goggles recently tehehee.
Oh god, I will fall over dead when the fight sequence arrives. The whole episode is, like, a metaphor for sex. The first part is the discovering of attraction, then there's the seductive dance around each other, then the fight is the actual SEX, and Kirk dying is orgasming because hello, little death.
At least, this is how I see it this fine afternoon. :D
