House and video gaming

Holy crap, am halfway through the second season of House and I ship House/Wilson so fucking hard.  I'm cheating by watching the current sixth season, but it just makes me love them more because I know they'll still be awesome down the road.  I think my favorite parts were Wilson confronting Cameron and Stacey in two different episodes, warning them ( Read more... )

There's actually a lot of them, though not really for TOS. The one I'll attempt to play was for the original Nintendo, so this oughta be just fascinating. :P

I stopped actively playing at the Playstation 2 level, but only because I played Grand Theft Auto like a fiend (come on, it was set in the 80s!) My sister has a Wii and I hate it, but when they come out with the new Star Trek game, you bet your ass I'm going to be on that thing 24/7. :D

Yay for House! The show does make it kinda easy to ship the two of them, doesn't it?

There's a TOS game? I had a TNG Genesis game. It was great, except the stupid Romulans kept attacking me.

Even better, though you'll need to track down some kind of Apple IIe emulator, is the Apple II text adventure from the early 80s. Written by Diane Duane. So naturally she threw in all her bookverse characters. It is awesome, as I recall.

*thinks* ... Ohhh, you mean the TOS computer games! I had the first one of those! I think there are two. It was frustrating enough that I actually bought the damn hint book from the manufacturer. But it was really pretty fun. I may have beaten the whole game. They're point and click adventure-y. I'd play it again, but I no longer have a floppy drive and I don't know where to download the Mac version, anyway.

I don't know about the other ones, and I think the earliest game I ever played was Orgeon Trail, but at least I can claim that it was a floppy. :D The one I downloaded is a 25th anniversary edition and you played it on the original Nintendo. Now those I'm familiar with.

The computer game I had was also a 25th anniversary game, or at least it had the 25th anniversary logo on the box. Man, I have been in this fandom a while.

*wikis* Aha, it's the same name (not game, apparently), only it's the computer version. I think the graphics/plots are likely to be better in the computer one, if you can get a hold of it. I recall being very impressed with the mission-style plotting, and there's the return of Mudd, too...

I also had a board game with a video tape, and a couple different card games...

Yes! House/Wilson! &hearts&hearts&hearts

Oh, and be sure to pay attention to the music during their scenes. They had quite a bit of 'shippy' music/lyrics during season two.. or maybe it was season one & two.. anyway, MUSIC :D

I could explain more, but I don't want to spoil things..

Haha, well, I only have two examples off-hand.. But they're good ones!

There's a scene where House & Wilson are alone in a room together (can't remember if it's an office or a patient's room) and House looks outside and says "it's raining" or something.. The music playing over that scene is Damien Rice's "Delicate":

"We might kiss when we are alone
When nobody's watching
We might take it home
We might make out when nobody's there
It's not that we're scared
It's just that it's delicate."

And then, when Wilson is trying to find a new apartment, I think..? House deletes his phone messages and watches Wilson sleep, and Al Green's "Love and Happiness" is playing:

"Something's going wrong
Someone's on the phone
Three o'clock in the morning
Talkin' about how she can make it right
Well, happiness is when you really feel good about somebody
Nothing wrong with being in love with someone
Oh, baby, love and happiness.."

Clearly the writers want us to ship House/Wilson.. So I'm just giving them what they want! ;)
