Star Trek fanmix: Silently

May 20, 2009 04:06

Your eyes doth not deceive you. I did a fanmix, even though I suck hard at cover art. It's just that I made a K/S playlist and so many songs tied together that this was spat out. I basically chose songs that have a futuristic/sci-fi sort of vibe and ended up getting a kind of narrative out of it. I think I included every fandom trope out there. Pon Farr! Hurt/Comfort! UST!

Also, if you haven't seen the movie, there be SPOILERS.

Silently - A Kirk/Spock Fanmix

Johathan Elias - Separation (Instrumental)

Muse - Map of the Problematique
Spock loses his mother and his home in one fell swoop. Then there's Jim Kirk, who complicates matters further.

I want to be free
From desolation and despair
And I feel like everything I saw
Has been swept away
When I refuse to let you go

Smashing Pumpkins - The Beginning is the End is the Beginning
In the wake of the destruction of Vulcan, they put aside their differences in the fight for Earth.

For now we stand alone
The world is lost and blown
And we are flesh and blood disintegrate
With no more to hate

Elliot Minor - Silently
In such a short time and through a series of tragic events, Kirk and Spock form an unlikely connection.

So silently, you make this day, so unreal and never ending,
Standing on the edge believing,
That this will never end.

The Tea Party - Stargazer
The five year journey of the Enterprise has commenced. They start to open up more, still butting heads but wanting to know more about this dynamic person in their life.

You tell me love, tell me where the stars sleep
Tell me why your eyes weep
I really wanna know

Assemblage 23 - Lullaby
The two start to form a deep friendship, visiting each other on quiet nights when they are unable to sleep.

Close your eyes now, if only for a moment
For it's time you get some rest
The wolves are gone and nothing here can harm you
Let go of your fragile consciousness

Aerosmith - Jaded
It's very frustrating when you're the captain of the Enterprise and you currently have a crush on your first officer who is about as easy to read as a book written in fifty different languages.

Your thinking's so complicated
I've had it all up to here

Screaming Trees - Look at You
Uhura breaks up with Spock, who still grieves for her loss as he wrestles with this growing feelings for Jim.

Her ghost hides
In my mind
In the night
In a way she's haunting me
I'm wanting her still

Garbage - You Look So Fine
Spock is overcome with desire for his friend, but dares not say a word because he knows that it would be illogical for Jim to want Spock when Jim can (and still does) have anyone he wants.

It's so insane, you've got me tethered and chained
I hear your name and I'm falling over
I'm not like all the other girls
I can't take it like the other girls

Aqua - Turn Back Time
Jim's much too human. One night there's a moment when Spock is standing too close and Jim could have reached out for him, but doesn't. Now he obsesses over this night and wonders what would happen if he had another chance

If only I could turn back time
If only I had said what I still hide
If only I could turn back time
I would stay for the night

Radiohead - All I Need
Unresolved sexual tension time. Both parties want the other, but neither believes that the other wants them.

I'm the next act waiting in the wings
I'm an animal trapped in your hot car

Depeche Mode - In Your Room
Spock begins having emotional outbursts and eventually confesses that he's going through Pon Farr. Sex rapidly ensues.

I'm hanging on your words
Living on your breath
Feeling of your skin
Will I always be here?

Edward Kowalczyk - Walk into this Room
Love doesn't solve all their problems, but they try to protect each other from what's out there.

Don't let 'em get to your spark
That little light in the back of everything that says this
Isn't for madder love
