I was talking on IM with a friend from California, and we started talking about politics, so I wanted to see how liberal I was. I think of myself as a hardcore liberal, but I wondered if, when faced with the issues and considering that I live in central Texas, if I was more moderate to a Californian or a New Yorker. I agree, you just don't change core beliefs. And I even asked him about when he was a 'liberal' and he wasn't much of one. It was the sixties, everyone was a liberal. :P Plus the Democratic party was way different in the 50s and his childhood.

I think it was Winston Churchill who said that any young person who wasn't a liberal has no heart and any old person who wasn't a conservative had no brain. I highly disagree-- and british definitions of the word are different from ours anyway. Their conservatives are more liberal and less stupid than ours, as a general rule.

There are some core beliefs that don't change as we get older, you know? No offense to conservatives, but... okay, offense to conservatives, but I am a liberal democratic and proud of it. I could go on and on about this, but I'll just say: Go us!! ♥

Yeah go us!! I can't see myself ever not wanting gay marriage or shoving religion into others' faces. Even when I attended church and was cool about it, I was very pro separation between church and state and could not give a damn when they took prayer out of schools. I mean, who cares?
