i went for the second time to the gym tonight. 30 mins on the elliptical. Wasn't fun, but I survived it.

I'm telling you. Make pb&j sandwiches on honey wheat or wheat bread. Take 3 of them, and eat one at 10, 12, and 2. It's quick, but it's protein and fiber. Buy reduced sugar jam. Other than that, have oatmeal in the morning for breakfast, and take things like raisins and baby carrots for snacks. It's not that tough - and the best thing you can do for weight loss is boost your metabolism, which you can easily do by eating something every 3 hours or so. Also, if you drink soda, stop. Water water water.

I think part of my problem is that I don't read labels. I have a lot of food in the freezer and cupboards that probably isn't good for me, but I can't afford to toss it all and buy more. Hell, I don't even know how many bottles of soda I have in the kitchen. :-[

My problem with water is that I like flavor. I don't know what's changed because growing up I used to drink tap water until I puked. Now it has to have flavor. Not even sugary, just some hint of something. If it wasn't for that and having all this soda in the house, I'd be fine. I have also taken to drinking propel. It's so cheap from Sam's that I'd drink it exclusively. Now to renew my membership... :-\

Propel is the water of the gods, but if you don't want that, try the off brand (walmart, :-D) version of crystal light (singles or quarts). They're sugar free, only five calories per serving (8 oz), the singles are for pouring into bottles and the quarts, well, that's obvious. Water is super key. Reading labels, (counting calories in general) is also really important. Try out www.sparkpeople.com for not only amazing weight loss tools, but also very helpful information on other healthy eating/exercising habits. Look me up there too, my name is shadowedpoetess

I don't know if you knew or not, but I've lost just over 80 lbs in the past year and a half, so I'm getting pretty knowledgeable about this stuff.. I'm always here to lend a hand if I can!!!

If you could find me an extra hour and a half, I'd join. I've been trying to join a gym for 2 weeks and finally blew my knee doing nothing, so that's out....nutrition it is. Yeah, right.
