Both Qwest and Comcast are somewhat unreliable, so I figure as long as you're taking a risk, go for the one that's 20 times as fast. At least it's fast when it's working.
Comcast is hit and miss depending, largely it seems, where you live. Out where I'm at (Monroe), its pretty good and fast. Its cut out maybe three times in three years and all three times it took an automated phone call to initiate what I assume was an IP reset.
Anyway, long story short: I'm happy with the service, the installer was quick and efficient, and I think you'll be happy with it.
Comcast has been pretty reliable for me, and Qwest doesn't offer DSL where I live. That said, Comcast isn't all that cheap. Clearwire may be better over all... I've heard good things about it, it's cheaper, and it might be just as reliable.
Never had any real problems with Comcast cable modem at the U-district. There were a couple times where I lost my connection, they just had me reset my modem, took like 5 mins. And the cable guy only needed about 5 minutes to get me set up.
