So I've been devouring the Seven/Ace BFAs, as well as the Seven/Ace/Hex BFAs, with reckless abandon the last few months. As I grow increasingly more fascinated by the Seventh Doctor (my love for him has now supplanted the unholy and unwavering love I had for the Fourth Doctor, may he forgive me someday...), and fall ever more in love with him, I'm

Return of the Daleks, Project: Lazarus, Valhalla and Frozen Time are all fairly decent, if nothing above average.
Unregenerate! is an okayish story, and has some very good material for Mel, but really doesn't play to McCoy's strengths as an actor.
Last of the Titans is pretty piss-poor, and Excelis Decays is awful, absolutely dire.
Have you not heard any of the seventh Doctor/Mel plays? The Fires of Vulcan is amazing, Bang-Bang-a-Boom is both quite amusing and a really well thought out whodunnit, and Red is a gripping horror story.

And "Master" is indeed a thing of (hideous) beauty. =:o}

Mel is generally not as annoying in the audios. It's the same as what happened with the 6th Doctor, how the show didn't really allow him to reach his potential (or specifically, to be "alien" as opposed to "ass-hole") on screen, but in the audios, he kicks ass. They've pretty much done that with all of the annoying characters, made them a lot better mostly just because the stories are better. I'd love it if they could somehow get the 5th/Tegan/Nyssa/Adric line-up together for at least one story just to see if it worked.

Personally I've never been able to get through Master. I've tried several times and I just fail.
I enjoyed all of the Excelis ones.
Valhalla is good fun. Lots of humor.
Unregenerate is good. If you want some other Mel stuff I'd recommend Fires of Pompeii for a good old historical.

Frozen Time was fairly average.
I made it through Last of the Titans, so it wasn't awful. OTOH, I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it.
Haven't heard the others yet.
