The
Big Finish Summer Sale is on and I'm planning on treating myself to some new stuff.
I'm looking principally at the one-day "DW for a fiver" offers; I've got all the Eighth Doctor titles, so barring those, are any of the other DW titles on offer absolute "must haves"?
Any and all suggestions welcome :-)

The idea of DW meets G&S in The Pirates also sounds like something I should check out :-)
Cheers!

Phantasmagoria is creepily good...
I'm not a huge fan of G&S, but I still enjoyed The Pirates - if that's not a recommendation, I don't know what is!

Personal opinions, so your mileage may vary!

I'm not sure about Seven yet, but the idea of DW meets Eurovision sounds like a hoot!
And seeing as I'd listen to DT read the phone book, I might have to give Colditz a go, too.
Thanks a lot for the recs.

Be warned that DT is doing a German accent (and is definitely being a baddie!) in Colditz. I find the accent kind of hilarious, but it's not the accent you'd want him to read the phone book in. (Because I'm totally with you on the phone book thing. But not as his Colditz character!)

I admit, my childhood memories of La Langford are mostly what's keeping her towards the bottom of my TBL (to be listened-to) pile! But I can imagine that's the sort of story that would suit her.
I'm pretty sure I've read the synopsis of Colditz so I'm prepared for the German baddie, and no, the phonebook needs to be in the Scottish accent :-)

I'd like to stress The Holy Terror which is one of the first audios I've listened to and still one of the best. The Fires of Vulcan which features the seventh Doctor and Mel in Pompeii is also very good.

Thanks for the other recs.

The Holy Terror - Six and Frobisher, and I can't think of a non-spoilery summary. It's very, very good and I love it.
The One Doctor - Six and Mel and the funniest thing ever.
Bang-Bang-A-Boom - Seven and Mel, a murder mystery wrapped up in a parody of Eurovision and Star Trek and also hilarious.
Jubilee - Six and Evelyn. Dark and painful and I mean that in the best way possible. Simply excellent ( ... )

Thanks for the pointers :)

Below them, I'd rank: The Marian Conspiracy (Six, with Evelyn's introduction), Loups-Garoux (Five and Turlough), Colditz (Seven and Ace), The Eye of the Scorpion (Five and Peri, Erimem's introduction).
