The best way to remember that it's a leap year is that every leap year, we have the Summer Olympics and presidential elections.
And I may not have a job that much anymore. I wasn't able to get time off this morning so I could easily go to my grandmother's funeral. What happened was last weekend I asked the supervisor if he'd do my route for me, or at least do some of it. He said he'd have to see about it because of the primaries.
This morning when I came in around 12:30am, he said he didn't remember having that conversation. And then he said he had something to do at 7am. And so I started badgering him, louder and louder, asking him what he had to do. "What's so important for you to do at 7? Huh? Is it as important as me burying my grandmother? HUH? I have to be the pall bearer, you know that? What's so important? What? What?!"
And then my manager, Mr old grouchy asshole, told me to shut up and go home, then. He told me he didn't care about the funeral or my grandmother, and was like "Both my parents died and I had to work both times and I never get any time off and you don't hear me bitching.." (which is funny because he runs the place so he could go on vacation whenever).
And I had to go sit out in my car because I wanted to choke the life out of that old fuck. Later, when I didn't leave, and he asked if I was going to work, I said "Well, he's busy doing something and can't do my route, so who else is going to do it? I might as well."
And it was the perfect storm, too. I swear the universe is against me.
Not only did we have the primaries, which made the papers late, but we also had freezing rain, which also made the papers late. It was papers late, shitty weather, everything going wrong so I couldn't get finished early.
