Okay, I had the weirdest weekend. I mean, just some seriously strange stuff happened. I almost got fired. I was sick and having to work. All of Detroit's teams lost one after the other. I saw something that cannot be unseen, that the goggles will do nothing for. My grandmother's in the hospital for a pacemaker. However, I did spend time with my family for my sister's 20th birthday at a comedy club and restaurant, so it had it's good moments.
I may break this up into different posts.
Detroit area teams... not winning...
I had meant to mention this before in a previous post. I was wondering what I had forgotten to post about. But the three major teams in the Detroit area playing now were doing amazingly well. The Tigers, the pro baseball team, made it into the final playoffs. And two of our American football teams were unbeaten.
However, the Tigers lost the playoffs this weekend and will not go on to the finals.
The Lions, the local pro football team, has been unbeaten for the first time in forever. Realize that for the past several years the Lions have been the WORST team ever. One year they lost EVERY game. Yet this year, the Lions went from being the worst to being unbeaten against teams that were once unbeatable. Often this season they'd come back from way behind in the half and destroy the other team. The best game was when they won 48-3. But then they lost this past Sunday. Hopefully it will be the only time.
As for the University of Michigan college football team, it's a similar story. Both teams have new coaches. Both teams were doing pretty badly in the past few years (the Lions were much worse, though). But this season, Michigan's been destroying the teams it's up against. One of the best games was where Michigan won
58 to ZERO. There was also blowouts like
28-7,
31-3, and
42-24. The best game I thought was the
first one where they came back from behind, because the other team kept on
dropping the
ball left and right, and blew them out of the water. The game ended up being finished early due to bad thunderstorms, but also because the other team was losing so badly, with the score 34-10.
But then they lost this last game, pretty badly too, to a rival team that has had a pretty bad season.
So yea, it was a bad weekend for all our sports teams.
