Coming back home today

May 26, 2009 09:15

I'm going to be flying back home today. I'll give an overview of the trip tomorrow.

Still waiting for my mother to spend a few hours showering, putting her face on, and packing. I'm already packed. Sigh... women.

Since Charleston is such a tiny city (only 90,000 people), the airport is small too. Large jets can't land here. So around 3pm we take a regional jet to a larger hub city, in this case Atlanta, about an hour away. We'll stay there a couple hours, and then take a larger jet home to Detroit.

I find it funny that the weather channel, when we came in the first day, forcast thunderstorms and rain all week. Sunday: Thunderstorms. Monday: Thunderstorms. Tuesday: Thunderstorms.... Instead, it's been nice and sunny all trip.

As for the other computer in this lab, I think it's screwed. I put it into safe mode, did a virus scan, reset the computer, did another virus scan, and it still freezes constantly. Either AVG antivirus sucks, or the computer's so contaminated with viruses and spyware that removing them destabilizes XP. If I were to fix it, I'd erase the entire hard drive a few times, reinstall windows, and this time, put a whole bunch of security in place, including guest accounts, firewalls, antivirus, and everything that SHOULD have been on the computer in the first place.

Well, off to the plane we go.
