Zoe's Office - April 25

Apr 25, 2007 11:37

Zoe was at her desk, reading and working on an apple muffin from the bakery. The fact that it was her third muffin of the morning...well, she wouldn't be mentioning that to anyone.

"Principal Washburn?" Evie stood just outside the door, looking hesitant, a sheaf of crumpled papers in her hand. "Do you have a moment to talk?"

Zoe looked up and nodded, waving Evie in. "Sure, come on in. What can I do for you?"

Evie carefully put her crumpled, marked-up notes down on Zoe's desk, looking very anxious. "On Monday, sometime after my Fairy Tales final, someone broke into my room. And they did that--" she pointed at the papers, "to my notes for Artifacts, and Myths. And stole half of them as well." She twisted her hands together. "It's very very upsetting."

Looking over the notes, Zoe frowned at their state, and nodded. "I can understand that. Do you have any idea who might have done this?"

Zoe glanced towards the doorway for just a moment before shuffling back through the papers she had in her hands. "Come in."

Billy stumped in on his peg leg. "Hi uh, sorry to bother you, but it's possible that someone has run off with my prosthetic leg."

Zoe let out a sharp exclamation when she saw Billy. "Are you all right? Why would someone do that?"

The Tick strode over to Zoe's office, took a mighty breath of nervousness, and knocked on the door. "Hello, Principal Washburn!" he said.

"Hello!" she said, smiling almost instantly. It was kind of hard not to around The Tick. "What brings you by?"

The Tick took a seat and tried to figure out how to phrase it. "Destiny," he said. "I was brought here by Destiny."

"That's kind of poetic," Zoe replied. "Sometimes, I think that's how we all ended up here."
