Or really, I love the way it all comes together (and what you make of what I write and how it all works so wonderfully). The Web and Henry relationship is kind of perfect (oh Henry, you are actually much better at understanding people than you think you are sometimes) and Charlie. Charlie is essentially, exactly how I imagined him to be, right down to the earnest desire to Party. And the cheering (for some reason I think the cheering was something that became particularly obnoxious when he had had too much beer in particular).

Also, Nate and his reaction to getting that mark? I am in agreement with it. And I grin happily at the ending and What Is To Come. In short ♥

Can you see why this chapter took me so damn long to write? It was just too much fun and there was such a staggering level of awesome in the characters and storyline that I had to break the second part off and just spin the third part off of it. But then, I suppose that's a sacrifice that we're just going to have to make, you know? *snicker*
Web and Henry and their correspondence friendship, Charlie and his party-boy sensibilities, Nate and Henry's burgeoning best friendship. SIXTA. My God, the Sixta. All this wouldn't have been nearly as much fun without your input and collaboration!

It all starts in a bookstore.

*happy sigh* All good fics start in bookstores ^_^

You see, the truth of the matter is that Joe and I started fooling around... Henry Jones IV nearly choked on his Dr. Pepper, gagging and sneezing a little as the carbonation threatened to spurt out his nose or something equally unpleasant.

JESUS! Henry isn't the only one choking on his drink, seeing as I started reading this letter thinking it was to Henry from Nate xD Thank God it's from Web!!

“Yeah!” Charlie cheered. “You only live once, you know?”

“I guess one drink couldn’t hurt,” Henry sighed.

Ahh, why do I like the sound of Henry getting drunk in my head??

It was only a party, after all. What was the worst that could happen?

*snort* Well, it depends with Colbert is there or not..

I'm telling you, bars and bookstores are two locations where strange and miraculous things happen on a regular basis.

And HA HA HA, jeez, that would be one very strange letter! But no, it's Web. Silly Web. He and Joe are such a soap opera.

Ahh, why do I like the sound of Henry getting drunk in my head??
Because it will be an amusing sight and one that Nate will continue to tease Henry about decades later when they're sitting around the Oval Office.

*snort* Well, it depends with Colbert is there or not..
Alas, Brad Colbert will not be there. This story takes place in Henry and Nate's first year of college, Brad didn't enter the scene until their third year. But one could argue that was actually for the better, since if Brad had been at that party...well...there might have been a repeat of Jamaica.

I think I may have just fallen in love with you even more. This made me ridiculously happy, I can't believe I missed it when I checked for updates before. We have another Web and a mini Liebgott appearance! Like I said: happy!

David was smart but prone to fits of pretension and melodrama. All in all, Henry had reached the conclusion that if they ever saw one another on a regular basis they would undoubtedly get on each other’s nerves. Thus, Web made for the perfect pen pal.

Lol! Seriously. You are sheer brilliance. This is Advanced Characterisation 101: Not Shying Away From Incorporating Your Characters' Prick-Like Qualities Into Your Writing. I'm looking forward to seeing more Henry/Web dynamics and obviously some more Nate and Henry because they own my soul and also I can't wait to see Henry drunk :D

See, the biggest problem with the Big Damn AU of Doom is that there are so many characters and so little time that too many of them fall through the cracks and end up being regaled to mere mentions here and there when they really deserve their own time in the spotlight. David Webster and Joe Liebgott are no exception. Perhaps one day those two will get more than a paragraph's worth of writing.
Especially since Web's actually kind of fun to write, endearing pretension included.

And oh, Henry drunk...hell, Nate drunk, for that matter...HA HA. Now there's a story...

;)
