She let out a breath. "Okay, first, Johnny doesn't care if I continue on with my schooling or not. He just wants me to be happy and living with him -- which I will be. He's excited for me that I got into art school, but he's not going to be pissed at you if I put it off." She didn't think. "Mom might rant and rave, but she knows that what I do, I do for good reasons."

Bryce was trying to process the whole Savannah being married thing. "Okay, wait, back up here," he said, belting down the rest of his drink. "You're married? When the hell did that happen?"
"Be nice, Bryce," Sean said, pinching the bridge of his nose. "Or else I'm beating you with your goddamn guitar."
"Oh no you're not, I have to get back up there in five minutes," Bryce said. To Savannah, he said, "Okay, tell me it's a recent development and that you haven't been married since you were like fourteen or something."
"Like they would've let that happen, you idiot."
