WEEK 2: PoV Competition

Aug 04, 2011 20:16

After almost four years, this competition has become quite the stample in Big Brother LJ. It's taken on many forms for many different themes, but this will actually be the original format.

Big Brother going to Hogwarts is incredibly relevant, as it is a true battle of good vs. evil. Your task? To be the "last person standing" in a magical battle. Each player will have 20 life points to work with and once your life points run dry and/or you have been Avada Kedavra'd, you will officially be out of the competition.

Your wands are outfitted to only perform certain spells, which are:
EXPELLIARMUS - The Disarming Spell. Use this to prevent your opponent from attacking anyone in the competition. Their attack will be cancelled and they will stay frozen for the following round.

PROTEGO - The Shield Spell. Use this spell to deflect a curse aimed at you back to the person casting it. You will need to specify who you are blocking, as it does not block every spell that is cast at you.

EXPECTO PATRONUM - The Protector. This spell will create a "diversionary houseguest," giving you a 50/50 shot of surviving an attack. Random.org has already decided the rounds that a Patronus will be a saving grace. You can only use this spell three times.

OBLIVIATE - Use this curse to "delete" a spell from another houseguest. You cannot use it on yourself. You must use it on another player. For example, if Janelle thinks Rachel will use Relashio on Daniele in round one, Janelle can Obliviate Rachel in round one, thus cancelling her attack on Daniele.

RELASHIO - This spell will subtract one Life Point from your opponent.

LEVICORPUS - This spell flings your opponent into the air upside down, thus confusing them and causing their spell to go awry. It will hit another houseguest at random. The HG it hits has been previously decided by Random.org. This will reduce your opponent's life points by three.

ENNERVATE - This spell will revive you. You will gain three Life Points when this spell is used. If you are Avada Kedavra'd in round five and you use Ennervate in round six, it will have no effect. You are d-u-n, dun. You are only allowed to use Ennervate once, so choose wisely.

IMPERIO - The Controlling Spell. Casting this spell on an opponent will give you temporary control of their actions. When using this spell, clearly state the houseguest you are impiriusing, as well as the HG you are making them attack. In addition to controlling your opponent, this curse will subtract three Life Points from said opponent. This is an Unforgiveable Curse, so it will also subtract three Life Points from you. You may only use this curse three times.

CRUCIO - This spell will subtract six Life Points from your opponent. You may only use this spell two times. However, this is another Unforgiveable Curse, so using it will subtract three total Life Points from yourself.

AVADA KEDAVRA - This can only be used once per HG and you must have used four other spells prior to this one before casting it. If you do not use four other spells before casting this spell, it will backfire and you'll be out of the competition. This is the last and deadliest of the Unforgiveable Curses, so using this spell will subtract ten Life Points from your total. This curse must be used exclusively by one player in a single round. If two players use Avada Kedavra in the same round, they will both be eliminated. Again, use this curse wisely, or don't use it at all. It's ~Sirius~ bidness.

In the event of a tie, we will go into a tiebreaker duel. With that said, everyone will comment to this post with their attack plan for Round 1. The rounds will become increasingly shorter and shorter, so check back frequently for updates. Deadline for your spells will be Friday, Aug 5th at 7:59pm EDT.
Ten spells at your disposal.
Twenty Life Points.
Choose your allies, and prepare for battle.
