To watch or delete

I watched the Vampire Diaries premiere and enjoyed it well enough, but the rest of the eps have piled up since I've been busy. Are you guys still watching? Is it worth it? I was done with the show, but then they brought back Jeremy and I love him, and the Originals (who I was really sick of) left.

The mythology is super off the rails this season and it's never been more derivative, but I'm still watching it for whatever reason. I don't know. It's a crack show for me even when it's not particularly good. It's almost like a game for me at this point ("Hmm, looks they're doing Angel again; hey, it's that Eric storyline from True Blood; oh look, I think they're veering into S4 of Buffy"). I still like Damon and Elena, although I'm growing v. tired of all the contrivances in that relationship, and I have hope for Caroline/Stefan, who are adorable. But idk. Not super invested at this point.

Yeah, I'm with Julie. I usually put it on in the background but I'm not nearly as invested as I once was. And there is never enough Jeremy! They've made several choices this season that I just really don't get.

I was out when they killed Jer, and of course they had to bring him back! SIGH. In the first ep I felt chemistry between him and Katherine, which would be really inappropriate but freaky and awesome. Heh.

I'll give it a go and keep expectations low. Thanks! :)

I do love Caroline and Stefan. I'll give it a go, since I'm not super invested either, and I can FF stuff that's really dumb, I suppose. Man, I LOVED this show for the first two seasons, liked it a lot in S3, and then it was sharply downhill. Amazing how that can happen.
