Getting ready for Breakfast at Wimbledon! Mom made clotted cream for our strawberries. You can't get clotted cream here, but you can make it by scalding whipping cream and separating it and getting all the thick cream at the top. Mom is from the West Country in England and we like to do our cream right. :D ( Read more... )

Whoo-hoo! I am a Rafa girl first and foremost, but I will be very happy for Nole if he wins.

Great match! For a while there I thought Rafa would come all the way back, but I'm glad Nole won. Not that I don't love Rafa, but seeing someone's childhood dream come true is always lovely. :)

I've got Wimbledon on right now, because I find it hypnotizing and I love tennis player's bodies and the noises they make amuse me. I don't get how tennis is scored though. It's almost as confusing to me as curling. I'm rooting for no one in particular, so I'll probably just end up cheering for the one that falls behind. I love me an "underdog."

I've got Band of Brothers on my list. Sad to hear they're not in it much, but I've always wanted to watch it anyway. It sounds good.

Hee. The tennis scoring is actually really easy once you get it. Basically, they need four points to win a game. But it's confusing because they score it 15, 30, 40 and then you win with point #4. Why those numbers? Fucked if I know. And 0 is "love," obviously. If both players get to four points, it's "deuce," which is a tie. Whomever wins the next point gets the advantage (the ump will say "Advantage Nadal") and then if Nadal wins the next point, he wins the game. But sometimes it can go back to deuce a few times before someone gets the Ad and then the win ( ... )

Yeah. Generally speaking, I'm not a big one for War Movies, but BoB is really excellent. It's really about the characters, their relationships, and the hell they went through.

Mmm, strawberries and cream.

Hope Wimbledon is going the way you'd like it to.
