Vacation

Had an amazing time in Cape Cod and New York City. mcfeste, susanderavish and I went to Provincetown last weekend and had some adventures with a rented boat, Miss Richfield 1981 and lots of tequila. Also the most amazing seafood. Mmm, lobster bisque ( Read more... )

Don't mind me lurking over here, but I'm so glad you liked American Idiot, (and had the chance to see it more than once, because I'm still noticing new things and I've seen it... way more than once.)

I'm pretty sure this is googleable info, but John's committed to the show through January, but the rumor/expectation is that Stark will be leaving if Miraculous Year gets picked up.

And in other news you don't need, the original Favorite Son (who is *amazing*) is joining Scottsboro Boys for its Broadway debut in the fall.

Icon love!

I definitely need to see this show many more times. Part of me wants Stark's show to be picked up, but I hope he stays with AI as long as possible. It would be good if he, Johnny and Esper could leave at the same time. And it would be better if I could go to their last. :D

Hmm, never heard of Scottsboro Boys, but will Google!

Sounds like you had an amazing time in NY & you're the second person I know who got to see Matt's show *is jealous* *g*

Anyway, you've probably seen this by now, but in case you haven't there are a few more vids http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=87A29EEA5042A4DA

And yay for the news that no-one dies in McKinley! Look forward to seeing how that one turns out now

Yay, more vids! That was well-timed. :)

Matt was awesome. Such a great night! And I really hope McKinley gets a release. You never know with indies, but I'm hopeful for a DVD.

FIRSTLY, I APOLOGIZE FOR NERDING OUT IN MY REPLY TO LARA LOL OOPS

Secondly, holy shit that song. I was sadded that it was the only song available (still holding out hope for "Oh!", because omg I LOVE ERIC HUTCHINSON) but if I had to pick one I'd have chosen that. On my list of top 25 songs forever and ever (yeah, I keep a list), I think "A Change Is Gonna Come" still takes the slot for Matt, just because it's such a classic and defines the breakthrough I had where I was just like, "Wow. This guy is sexy." But vocally and emotionally, "Lost and Lookin'" is the better Sam Cooke cover. GUH. (I think "I Know" is the song that best shows off his vocal abilities, though. And apparently I spend too much time ranking his -- and other peoples', of course -- performances.)

The first time I saw AI I was sitting about 20 rows back (it was the day before previews and the good seats were reserved for cast's family) and still, I was obsessed with Esper's performance. Already he had my favorite male voice in the cast, but the way he made me feel ( ... )

YOU CAN NERD OUT ANYTIME, OKAY.

Did you see Liz was able to put up more Matt vids? Yaaaay. :D

about four out of the six times I went in Berkeley (lol SHUT UP THAT IS NOT EXCESSIVE WHEN I PAID ~$150 TOTAL)

Hi, you're talking to the person who saw SA 12 TIMES in Toronto. (Thank you, $20 box seats.) I do not judge. Especially since I need to see AI more times and that will require another trip to a foreign land.

I really enjoy Esper. Also, his comments about the brouhaha on Twitter were FTW. He's hilarious! Did you ever meet Aspen Vincent? The girl needs a filter between her brain and the internets.

then I heard Stark was 3878358727x better and I just really hope a DVD comes out so I can uh, admire.

If there is no DVD before Stark leaves, fandom is FIRED. I can't believe there isn't one yet! (!!) I need to go back and watch Berkeley to see Matt. mcfeste and fenwic both adored him in Berkeley.

"Letterbomb" is such a fantastic expression of feminine rage (which sounds like PMS when I put it that way but I hope you see what I mean).Ha! Yeah, I ( ... )

I saw! Excitement! And at last, at last, the lovely between-song banter is included! I wish more people would film the song introductions, too. I feel like you get more of a sense of the performer's personality. <3

yesss, I wanted to favorite all the Twitterfight tweets he posted because they amused me so. much. It's kind of embarrassing how the only tweets I get texted to me are his and Matt's (seriously, am I twelve or what) and it has never been more worth it. <3333 ( ... )

was reading some of your entries and came across this - OMG I love Matt Doyle!! he is so adorable! I had no idea he was doing a movie, this looks great!

and AI!! I got a chance to see it again with Billie Joe Armstrong and while the show hadn't changed, the audience was electrified with excitement and it was amazing!

Isn't Matt just the cutest? *draws fangirly hearts*

Ohhh, I'm so jealous you got to see AI with Billie Joe! I actually have never really loved his voice, but it would be so interesting to see him as St. Jimmy. I can imagine the excitement from the audience would have been palpable. Man, I love that show SO MUCH. Need to see it again, multiple times. I really hope Billie Joe's appearance bumps up ticket sales so it sticks around at least until January.

BJA did wonders for sales last week, which doubled their usual gross.. which says a lot for his appearance and maybe not so much for their normal take. I think it'll stay til Jan, but not so sure of after that. I really liked the show but I think it's struggling for an audience in the tourist crowds

Yeah, sadly sales have not been great. That venue is just way too big since this isn't a family show. It's definitely struggling, since it's the big family-friendly shows that are doing well these days. Woe.
