Glee

I totally cried at the end of Glee last night. Well played, Joss Whedon. I know he didn't write the episode, but I thought this was one of the strongest of the series and I've got to give him some credit for that. Also, how wonderful was it to hear NPH and Matt Morrison get to sing live and not have it autotuned and overproduced to within an inch ( Read more... )

Yeah, it seems like they didn't studio record it? Weirdness!

I was very disappointed by that, too.

Was Joss Whedon involved in that episode? I don't remember hearing about that.

And aren't you a Nuke fan?

Yep, Joss directed this episode. :)

I *was* a Nuke fan, but I'm completely and utterly on board Luke/Reid now. They blow Nuke out of the water!

I missed this episode, and last night's... woe. But I TOTALLY agree with the need to drop the canned studio tracks for the actual episode. You know I loveLoveLOVE me some Groff (Harff!) but it pains me when he sings on the show... his voice is beautiful, natch, but his lipsynching is just... honey, no. I guess they are doing it this way for the sake of the weaker singers, and I'm sure it's easier from an editing angle, but if anyone can nail it on command (twss) it's the majority of this cast. Record for realz versions to sell, yeah, but please make the singing on the show less noticeably fake.

Thank you, that is all. I think I have some h/c boob!fic to read now.

Yeah, Groff's lipsynching is not the best. I have to say Lea's is fantastic. They did "Bad Romance" this week and the canned track really works for that kind of number. But when it's a quieter song, it pulls me out of the moment.
