So, Cory Monteith has a solo recording contract? Uh... Also:

And just as Glee is no High School Musical, Cory Monteith is not Zac Efron, his HSM equivalent as the jock who discovers he's just gotta sing.

You're totally right, he's not Zac Efron. Zac Efron can SING, for starters. Although I really did like Cory's acting performance on Glee this ( Read more... )

I KNOW, RIGHT?

cory's voice seriously upsets me just about every time i hear it, because i think, 'dear god, please get this boy a voice lesson before he hurts himself.'

Seriously, people can bag on Zac all they want, but he can pleasantly carry a tune without sounding like an injured goat. :| Sometimes Cory is *okay*, but I've never thought he sounded *good*.

Wtf. Also, if that was the strongest his voice will ever be? Ugh! I wouldn't mind getting someone to dub him. I wouldn't mind it. God, that scene with the parents was incredibly crushing through. It hurt. I couldn't figure out who was playing her mom until I read the credits!

The mind boggles! I understand Lea having one, but Cory? I'm sorry, but he's never sounded more than passable, and often he's cringeworthy.

That scene with the parents really was good. Poor Quinn! Her dad setting the timer on the microwave was a great detail. Ouch.

Yeah, I'm not what I'd call musically inclined, but even I can tell that Finn/Cory's voice isn't that great. When Will was trying to convince him to join Glee because he heard his great singing in the shower, I was kinda like um...But he did make me sad talking about not getting a chance to see his daughter. Same with Puck.

I think all you need is ears to know his voice isn't great! I keep harping on it, but it keeps baffling me anew at how we're supposed to think this is amazing singing.

But I do like him as an actor a lot.

My favorite thing about Cory is that he's 27 which makes it totally acceptable for me to lust after him. Sort of. *g*

OMG, I was mortified and then super pissed that Finn sang that song to Quinn in front of her parents. Grrr. Agreed, though, on Cory's acting chops in this ep. Great scenes with him and Kurt.

He made me tear up when he was talking about loving his daughter and her never knowing.

Okay, I was confused about this. Why won't his daughter ever know that he loves her? He has no idea that Quinn plans to give the baby to Terri, right? So as far as he knows, he's going to help raise this kid. Am I forgetting something?

Will's duet ballad with Rachel cracked me up. The panicked look on his face! Heeee. And I *loved* "Lean On Me." I do wish we'd gotten to see the duets between the other pairs, though. Especially Quinn and Artie.

Me and Orson Welles is finally getting a theatrical release next week!

!!!! Really? Yay!

I think the plan is to give the kid up, but Finn doesn't know it's to Terri. I'm pretty sure they've said that before, although I can't remember exactly. His comment about her not knowing he loves her would bear that out, so I assume we're just forgetting some earlier comment.

Yes, Quinn and Artie! I wanted to see that. And Mercedes and Puck. :D

Orson is coming out next weekend, although I assume it'll just be in LA and NYC since it's limited. But Zac is doing talk shows next week, so I hope it'll be a wider version of a limited release. If that made any sense.
