Four days, five Broadway shows, and a ridiculous number of random celebrity encounters -- part two

Oct 14, 2009 12:06

So, after the amazing experience of Hair, Fenny, Bliss and I left the theatre and were getting our coats on when we noticed a familiar woman standing on the sidewalk. Bliss was like, Hey, we know her, and then I realized she was Terri on As The World Turns. I've since looked up her name and it's Vanessa Ray. We told her we enjoy her on ATWT and she ( Read more... )

I was tickled to come across this as my sister and I were in town this past weekend and coincidentally also saw A Steady Rain and Bye, Bye Birdie. We agreed we thought the kids were the best part of Birdie. We also saw Love, Loss and What I Wore which was chick-lite but fun.

That's so funny! I really loved the kids in BBB. The second act needs more of them, and less of Albert and Rosie.

What did you think of Hugh and Daniel?

I agree; we thought they'd blend Irwin's "kids" number with "a lot of livin" for a big 2d act number, but no. . .

I thought Daniel and Hugh showed their acting chops. Their accents were spot on, the pace was incredible and they played off each other well-- sometimes having each others' back, sometimes sitting in judgment. I think Daniel actually made himself "smaller" (the flat head, the buttoned up attire), to counter Hugh's physicality, and then grew as the tale progressed. It certainly kept me on the edge of my seat. The puppy!

MMMMMMM. Hugh. Daniel. And you know what's funny? I'm so ignorant of 99% of the celebs these days that I could pass them on the street all the time and have absolutely no idea. And when I was commuting and going to the theater a lot, I probably did.

He was very cool! That was such a lovely bonus getting to meet him. What a nice guy, and so cute.

We also got to see you, so yes, we meet the coolest people. :D

So along with Van Hansis, we're 2 for 2 on meeting ATWT actors who tell us to write to TPTP.

Well, it seems to have worked when Van told us to! Eventually, anyway. :)

Sorry, Bernadette! You're someone!

Hee. Oops!

NBC is in the crapper (and cancelling good shows before they air!!)

I didn't know what you were talking about, so I looked it up. Dude. :|

Gaius, omg. That smile is worth a million bucks. I am melting vicariously.

Blake. ♥ And word about talking to actors at stage door about the show they're IN. It's nice that maybe their past work got you in the door, but their current work is what they want to talk about.

Want to see N2N sooo badly. Too bad I'm spoiled for it now, but I don't mind. I'm sure I'll cry anyway when I get around to seeing it. :)

Oh, Amy. I am still sooooo sad that you weren't with us. Know that we thought of you the entire time. :(((

Southland! Woe. :(( Please pick it up, TNT. Please!

Gaius was just so awesome. After we met him, we were like, Okay, can we meet someone that Amy doesn't also love? :/ We missed you!

Blake is so funny and sweet. And yes, you must talk about the current show! I mean, you can mention past work, but not exclusively. We didn't talk about SA at all with Matt.

Oops, I said spoilers on the N2N cut! But I was spoiled for the death and I still loved the show utterly. You would really like it, I think. It's so powerful and affecting. Really great theatre.

I decided to go searching for your post after getting off the phone. I'm still in a pissy mood because of Sympatico, but reading this definitely helped cheer me up.

*sighs* Did that all really happen?
