Since I'm all flush with Summer Glau love from SCC, I'm rewatching Firefly. This time around I'm listening to the commentaries, which are very entertaining thus far. I was going to point out Johnny's comments to you yesterday, but I thought you'd already seen them. I was glad he continues to be spportive on the issue. I'm not suprised he rolled his eyes because he's been answering this question all year. Evan has similiar views about the quad as joubert although not as harsh (but I'm holding out some hope that joubert came off worse then he meant because of English not being his first language) but evan often says he thinks the quad will save the sport and all top men have to be doing them etc. You would think after standing on the podium with 2 men he thought had no chance, Joubert would have been more diplomatic.

Yeah, I can only chalk up so much to the language barrier. For him to even mention it was sour grapes. The quad is great and all, but there's a hell of a lot more to skating!
I like Evan, but sometimes his blathering about the athletic side of skating really comes across as him being insecure about his manhood. Which I get to a certain extent (he's young, after all), but for pete's sake. Skating has always been artistic, and it's when you can fuse the athletism with the artistry that you get the best of the best. Jeff may not have a quad, but he did 8 triples, including two axels. So gah, whatever!
