It's a very nice day outside, very bright and sunny. Of course, that just means I had to work doubly hard on this story, inside. It's almost finished, and it should appear in the paper tomorrow, but...well, there's no telling what might happen this afternoon, and Lois is on a hot streak. Still, I should at least get in on the by-line, and that's ( Read more... )

You're a reporter, Mister Kent? That must be so interesting! What's your story on?

Around here it's bright and beautiful. There's no clouds anywhere! I'm in the park myself! This computer is getting me a lot of strange looks, though.

It's...very important work, and I'm really glad to do it. Oh, um, there...there was a fire this morning, it...it might've been arson. I-I'm just glad no one was killed.

It sounds very nice there, today. I hope you're enjoying the park. I, er, can imagine. What kind of computer do you have?

Arson? That's terrible... but that's humanity, I guess.

...I don't know. It's much smaller than any computers we have. Lighter, too.

I don't know about that. I-I think it varies, from person to person. The police are doing a good job investigating, and the fire department helped...save a lot of lives.

Oh, I think that's the kind I have. It's called a laptop, because, well, you can rest it on your lap. Does it close shut on something that looks like a hinge?

Um... first you say it's "still sore from the other day" and then "can't imagine where I got it from". ...isn't that a little contradictory?

...the weather here... it's the same as always.

Not really. I, er, woke up the other day with a strange injury on my side, but I really have no idea where it came from. It happens sometimes.

What's it like, then? If it's the same as always?

I... see.

It depends what part of the world you're in. Travel is easy here, so next time I reply I might be in a different climate. But where I am right now... the sky is clear, and since it's a pretty high place it's cool and windy.

I mean, well, haven't you ever woken up with a bruise and you have no idea where you got it? It's...well, almost the same thing.

It's the same way where I am. It tends to rain in some places, but others don't get as much. But it sounds very nice, where you are now.

Absolutely beautiful. Hope you got to the park, this has been the nicest day we've had in a long time. It'd be a terrible waste, to spend it in doors.

Best take something for that headache, while you're at it.

It rained yesterday, which is nice for flowers, but not so much for spending time outdoors. Oh, and yes, I made it to the park, and with a pretzel, too. Finished the assignment, too, now I just have to wait and see for tomorrow's edition.

A bit ahead of you there, grabbed some aspirin earlier, but thanks for the concern, I'm feeling much better now.

You get that after-rain smell, then. Might be the best part of a rainy day, in my opinion.

Some people forget to take care of themselves. Wanted to make sure you weren't one of them.

Oh, that's always very nice, but I also like when it first starts raining, and it stops...it stops the muggy dampness. It's...very relieving, like a dam bursting.

I have a friend like that, sometimes. It's...very worrisome. Don't worry, I take pretty good care of myself.

It always rains around here.

What's your story about? Was it dangerous to get it?

Oh, that's too bad. Hopefully you'll get a sunny day, now and then. Unless you like puddles, then that wouldn't be too bad.

It was about a fire this morning, and no, by the time I showed up, it was very much over. What about you, how's your report on the prime minister going?

It's England. Tourists complain 'bout it rainin' all the time, but puddles are fun--especially ridin' your bike through them!

Was anyone hurt? Mum said I could mess around on the internet once I got the second page done! It should be done by tomorrow an' then I can go play with my gang outside of school again.

That's always very fun, yes. I was more prone to jumping in them when I was your age, though.

A few people, yes, but I think they're going to be all right. Good work! I'm sure you'll do a good job and, er, go out and play soon enough.
