under the cut are rules and information on LIMS at bigbangicon. please read carefully!
►LIMS: what?
LIMS stands for Last Icon Maker Standing. It is basically number of challenges (in a session) and in each challenge an icon maker is eliminated until we get down to the last icon maker aka the winner (hence the name).
►LIMS: submissions
1. This is not like an icontest. You must sign up from the very beginning of a session inorder to enter icon(s). If you are not signed up (and sign ups have ended), you may not enter icons for that challenge but feel free to enter for our weekly icontest :D
2. In order to be able to participate in LIMS contest, it is required that you are a member and watcher of this community. It is also required that you have particpated at least once in the weekly icontest. Fail to do so before the voting of the first challenge begins will result in elimination.
3. Each challenge will last from Monday to Friday (night, Pacific time -8). If participant did not enter the challenge, a skip will be used automatically and if particpant has no more skips, he/she will be eliminated. It is mandatory for participants to enter the first challenge and the last 3 challenges (participants that are remaining that is). Again, fail to do so will result in elimination.
►LIMS: voting
1. Voting will be up on Friday night and end on Monday. Anyone is allowed to vote and participants are highly encouraged to vote. Changed for future rounds: (Session 2 and on) In able to recieve People's Choice, Runner Up, and Mod's Choice, participants must vote.
2. When voting on icons for low quality/emilination, you must give concrete reasons for why the icon(s) deserves to be eliminated. Reasons like "I don't like the person" or "Ugly color" will not be accepted. There must be at least one reason per choice. It can be as simple as "Icon is too blurry" or "Text is too distraction", but elaboration is encouraged so that icon makers can improve their skills from your reasons. If the mod feels that your reasons are inappropriate or unclear, you will be asked to clarify.
3. Favorite/high quality icons do not require reason, but would be lovely if there were.
4. Please no strategic voting. You may encourage friends to vote but never to vote for your icon. Reading the rules are important, so if you are, please comment on the sign up post with a subject that states your favorite Big Bang member.
5. Positive/favorites cancel out Negative/low quailty. For example, if an icon recieved 3 votes for favorite and 5 votes for elimination, the total would be -2. After talliation, the icon with the most elimination points will be eliminated (the number of icon makers eliminated may vary from each round). The icon with the highest positive points will be People's Choice (Runner Up and Mod's Choice will depend on the number of icons in a challenge). If this is not clear, example A and example B.
