Kicking off BBH 2010

Okay, so I finally put together the beginnings of another round of bigbanghood. I am going to do some cleaning of the comm before we go any further (in members and old posts from during the last round).

For now though, here’s a general opening and a place to ask any opening questions you might have.

Would you believe I had just asked someone else if they knew what was going on with BBH this year? ;)

Can you link me to the post from last year about what needed to be completed by check-in time? Thanks.

Well there aren't hard and fast rules for how much has to be done at the check-ins, it's more of a guidepost to know how people are progressing (for the mods but mostly the writers themselves). Also the break down has changed since last year so there really isn't anything to link to (last year did one big half way check in, this year doing a couple but even less strict ones).

Although I didn't commit to this in the rules post, I suppose my recommendation would be at least 1/3 at first check in and 2/3 at the second, but different writers have different ways of approaching these sort of schedules.

But yes, I would believe people have started to wonder what was up with this group this year, I kind of meant to get an earlier start, but kept putting it off (my own muses are on the fritz these days so thinking of running a challenge like this is hard to get in my brain).

Are we going to be doing chats and/or the help and encouragement threads like last year? Or did you have thoughts on ways we could improve those?

(And I sympathize with the fritzed-out muses... I keep getting ideas, but nothing's let me write it lately. *pout*)

YAY! I was at our (kind of) local SoCal Renaissance Faire the other week and almost came away with a ridiculously out of my price range wolf mask... Two guesses as to what I'm going to use this year's BBH to do... and the first one doesn't count. ;-)

SO glad this is happening again... I had such fun last year, and I'm looking forward to participating!

Quick question. I see first writer check-ins are coming up (like in two weeks). What are we expected to have finished by that time?

Well, I'm going to pretend that things are go, and just keep working on my story. Hopefully, everyone else is doing the same, and we can be on track for the big reveal. *fingers crossed*
