It was fantastic! :) I love the interplay between past and present, and how you were able to really give this character some depth, even though we have only seen her a little bit on the show. Her background was so believable, and it sucked me right into the story.
It was also nice to see how she comes to realize so many things through interacting with Leonard. I think you did a really good job with him.
Mostly, the sympathy you engender for this character is wonderful. To take someone who seems so unapproachable and, really, to be quite the "cold fish," and to give them such heart, to make them so human, is very, very good. You did a great job with this story!
I'm so glad you enjoyed it and that I succeeded in giving her a heart. I promised myself from the beginning that I wouldn't try to make her likeable, I would just give her character context and depth.
Just so you know, I was walking near campus the other day and saw an older gentleman playing a guitar with broken strings while sitting on a low stone wall by an atm. I put a dollar in his case and pretended that he was the older Leonard. :)
