on the back of my tongue i have really really large groups of red bumps. and then some scattered towards the front of my tongue. I am unsure if this is related to pregnancy, or my new intake of the progesterone suppositories ( Read more... )

whats OP? mean

it doesnt brush off.... well.. not realy. the bumps dont but i can make the white/yellowish come off with some intense brushing and rinsing... but i cant get all of it, especially in the back.

my mom said to gargle with salt water? ... said my dad reacts like that to MSG but... i havent had any chink food...

there are some large round taste buds on the very back of your tongue. there are may other taste buds all over as well. they can change color at times, due to foods, injury to the tastebuds, etc... check out this pic for specifics http://www.raymondsbrain.com/words/science/taste.html

a whitish coat can be many things- a reaction to a new medication, dry mouth, sinus problems, coffee, etc... the coat doesn't always fully come off and over brushing it could just irritate it more.

my only concern would be pain, if it is not hurting or changing shape/color then i wouldn't worry. if you are still concerned go see a doctor or dentist, they can tell you for sure what is going on.
